Following the success of the previous edition, the Majid Foundation once again committed to supporting the Spring Academy 2023, held from March 10 to 19 by the Locarno Film Festival in collaboration with the International Conservatory of Audiovisual Sciences (CISA).
This year’s edition, titled “Find a Film!”, involved a select group of ten emerging filmmakers, including Coline Confort, a multi-award-winning young filmmaker from Grenoble now based in Lausanne, who won the scholarship offered by Majid to participate in the event.
Under the guidance of the acclaimed Romanian director Radu Jude, Coline and her colleagues drew from the archives of RSI Swiss Radio and Television to create short films that reinterpret the region’s past through their personal and artistic sensibilities, offering an original reading of its historical heritage.
These short films were screened during the 76th edition of the Locarno Film Festival and later broadcast on RSI channels.
