Goals Achieved

MAJID FOUNDATION

A commitment since 2018

Since its founding in 2018, the Majid Foundation has supported 24 different projects spanning science, music, art, and cuisine, in collaboration with a number of important national and international institutions.

Projects that make a difference

Over the years, Majid has contributed to youth talent in many ways, funding scholarships in neuroscience, literary publications, artistic and theatrical initiatives, international musical activities, film festivals, social agricultural projects, as well as awards for emerging young chefs.

At the core of these projects is the shared belief that youth creativity and ingenuity should be supported not only financially but also personally, valuing the individual stories behind them and promoting a positive impact on the community.

A network connecting talent and opportunities

The Foundation’s work has been made possible through collaborations with universities, cultural associations, international festivals, art schools, philanthropic foundations, and public institutions, creating a wide network of relationships that reflects the Foundation’s inclusive, innovative, and international mission.

Every project supported by Majid is a tangible testimony of the trust the Foundation places in young people, in their ability to dream and contribute positively to the future outlook of our time.

Let's hear from the protagonists

With regard to the internship, I would like to thank the Majid Foundation and confirm that the experience was very positive and educational. My time in Lisbon was particularly inspiring: I had the opportunity to work in a creative and dynamic environment, including working alongside the renowned artist Joana Vasconcelos.

In particular, being able to work alongside her and contribute personally to the creation of one of her works was a truly exciting and meaningful experience. It was a very stimulating and creative journey, which allowed me to think outside the box and develop new skills.

I left with high expectations, curious to understand firsthand how an atelier of such international standing operates. These expectations were fully confirmed and, in part, transformed: I discovered an environment even more complex, dynamic, and stimulating than I had imagined.
During my stay, I was able to observe and participate in various activities, deepening my artistic and organizational skills, from managing creative processes to the teamwork required to create works. It was an intense and at times tiring experience, but this concrete dimension allowed me to better understand the value of method, discipline, and collaboration within a large-scale artistic project.
The interaction with the atelier environment and the work team was extremely enriching: I encountered professionalism, openness, and a willingness to engage in dialogue, elements that made the training even more meaningful.
This experience had a significant impact on my future career, strengthening my motivation and broadening my vision of career opportunities in the artistic field. It also offered me profound reflection on the cultural and human value of art as a space for encounter, exchange, and shared growth.

I thank the Foundation again for this precious opportunity.

During the 2024/2025 spring semester, I had the opportunity to complete an internship at the Casa della Sostenibilità in Airolo and subsequently write my master’s thesis on the topic of sustainable development by analyzing the perceptions of USI students who participated in Alpine seminars. None of this would have been possible without the support of the Majid Foundation.
This experience allowed me to explore different realities, experiment with research methods, and enrich my academic and professional journey with a concrete and meaningful project.
The support I received has therefore allowed me to have a highly valuable learning experience, both academically and personally, and for which I am extremely grateful to the Majid Foundation.

My name is Elvina Ganieva, and I am a scholarship recipient of the Majid Foundation. Thanks to this scholarship, I was able to complete my MAS at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (CSI). My goal in studying in Switzerland was to overcome stage fright and improve my piano skills. I currently live in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In 2024, I performed a concert in the large hall of the Ufa College of Arts, which I organized myself. Now, I continue to develop my musical career and work on my projects. In 2025, I plan to hold a solo concert in Switzerland with the support of the Majid Foundation. I sincerely thank the founders and all the staff of the Foundation for helping me realize my greatest dream in life.

Thanks to the Majid Foundation, I was able to participate in the Spring Academy 2022, producing a short film alongside director Michelangelo Frammartino. In my journey as a filmmaker, the Spring Academy was an important moment of encounter, creation, and collaboration with the Locarno Film Festival. Moreover, the year following this experience, I had the opportunity to showcase my work at the Foundation’s premises during a special screening organized by Majid.

My name is Marta Jornet, I am a flutist from Spain. I am grateful to express my deepest thanks to the Majid Foundation, whose generous support was fundamental for completing my studies at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana. Thanks to this help, I was able to cover expenses necessary to attend orchestra auditions in Europe, an opportunity that proved crucial for my professional and artistic development. Throughout this time, the Majid Foundation showed unconditional interest in my progress, not only academically but also regarding my professional future. The trust they placed in me pushed me to continue with greater strength and determination. Thanks to them, I have made strides in my career and moved closer to my dreams. This kind of support is very important for musicians like me, who are building their path in such a competitive world. I am deeply grateful to have a Foundation by my side that not only supports talent but also believes in the power of music and people.

Thanks to the support of the Majid Foundation, we were able to carry out a theatrical animation project in four nursing homes and day centers in the Italian- and German-speaking parts of Switzerland. This very enriching experience allowed us to pursue our goals of valuing the biographies—the ‘life stories’—of the senior residents of those facilities, thanks to activities proposed by young graduates of the Accademia Dimitri. It was a precious meeting between generations, focused on valuing, well-being, and also fun, through techniques and practices related to movement theater. And so, we continue in 2025!

With the support of the Majid Foundation, I was able to realize a dream that once seemed difficult: participating in a new project at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Airolo, the Casa della sostenibilità, and writing my thesis on the perceptions of USI economics students regarding sustainable development. This experience allowed me to deepen my knowledge of the territory, explore new research methods that will be valuable for my professional future, and contribute to the development of a student association dedicated to sustainability at the University. Without the support of the Majid Foundation, none of this would have been possible.
