Born in Russia into a family of musicians, Arseniy Shkaptsov moved to Ticino in 2011 to complete his studies. He graduated as a bassoonist from the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (CSI) and as an orchestra conductor from the Zurich University of the Arts. Arseniy quickly made a name for himself, winning numerous music competitions and conducting prestigious orchestras, leading him to collaborate with internationally renowned musicians. Fresh out of school, in 2017 at just 28 years old, he founded the United Soloists Orchestra: a symphony orchestra of about sixty musicians of various nationalities, aimed at promoting these young talents as soloists and highlighting their diverse cultural traditions through music.

The Majid Foundation embraced Arseniy Shkaptsov’s dream, financially supporting him in launching the United Soloists Orchestra’s concert season, including a performance held at Collegio Papio in Ascona on October 9, 2021.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Majid Foundation for its support. Thanks to your support, the United Soloists Orchestra has been able to grow and consolidate itself, becoming a point of reference for the promotion of local talent in Ticino. Your help has been fundamental in developing innovative projects and implementing cultural initiatives that have given a voice to young artists in our region.
I am truly grateful to you for believing in our project and enabling us to achieve important goals. We look to the future with enthusiasm, confident that this path of growth will continue to benefit the musical and cultural community of the region.”
