MAJID FOUNDATION, OPEN DOORS FOR YOUTHFUL
INGENUITY AND CREATIVITY
A creative exhibition space, an exclusive showcase to illustrate the creativity of the new artistic levers
May 24, 2019 – Inauguration of the “Maison Majid”, the Ascona headquarters of the newly formed Majid Foundation. Over 300 guests including personalities from culture, art, entrepreneurship and institutions, including the almost complete Municipality of Ascona. Those present were able to visit and appreciate the three floors of the recently renovated building in via Borgo 7, which offers itself as a reference and support point for youthful ingenuity and creativity.
The Majid Foundation aims to encourage, promote and reward young artists, researchers, operators with innovative ideas in every field, providing them with an opportunity to implement their respective projects. The prestigious venue of the Majid Foundation is also proposed as an exclusive showcase to better illustrate the creativity of the new artistic levers, such as the 22-year-old performer of Russian origin (born in the United States) Maria Kononov, who enriched the rooms of the “Maison Majid” with her works, already successfully exhibited in various international galleries.

CYCLE OF MEETINGS BETWEEN CINEMA AND PHILOSOPHY
2° CICLO DI INCONTRI TRA CINEMA E FILOSOFIA
UTOPIA 14.10.2020 – 03.02.2021
The second cycle of Cinema and Philosophy has Utopia as its theme. Our teachers at San Raffaele lead us to explore the interconnection between two symbolic forms that are only apparently distant: cinema which investigates the fundamental problems of existence and philosophy which, far from being a category disconnected from reality, shows a great capacity of understanding of our daily life.

Tribute to Damien Chazelle
The Majid Foundation, dedicated to promoting and supporting young innovators, has decided to create a cycle of meetings between cinema and philosophy, based on the young man American director, Damien Chazelle movies. Starting with Whiplash (2014), to continue with La La Land (2016) and finish with First Man (2018)
The meetings are organized by teachers of the Faculty of Philosophy of the San Raffaele University of Milan, who will guide you in reading three films by this young author. At the end of the cycle of meetings, Chazelle’s most recent film, First Man was proposed in full version at “Palacinema” in Locarno.
