Alexandra von Burg, a well-known painter in Canton Ticino and beyond for her unique and highly original style, capable of ingeniously blending the abstract and the figurative. Titled “Spring Elixir,” the rich exhibition showcases nearly seventy works of various sizes, reflecting the tireless and passionate exploration of the past two years. At the heart of this extensive collection lies the theme of Nature, a subject von Burg has always explored, but which now appears in a new, more intimate and introspective light.
This heightened awareness was attained through the newfound freedom of the post-pandemic months, during which the artist chose to live as much outdoors as possible, indulging in long mountain walks (where she is fortunate to reside), various nature-oriented travels, and even an exhilarating pilgrimage in Tuscany.
These spiritual and aesthetic experiences inevitably and almost necessarily found their way onto her canvases, guiding her brushes to recreate the many impressions imprinted in her mind and soul.

Milo Lombardo, born in 1941 in Barletta (Italy), has always lived in Milan, where he studied at the Free Academy of Nude Art. Having abandoned classical figurative art, Milo likes to define himself as a “Modern Individualist Figurative” or “Modern Figurative Abstractionist,” as evidenced by the abstract and modern forms and colors in his works. As an internationally renowned painter and sculptor, his artistic production often addresses social themes, such as the denunciation of environmental emergencies and ocean pollution.
“For me, art is life; it is what propels me forward in improvement, growth, and in conveying something of myself to others. This is my life.”

We are pleased to announce that from November until the end of January, the premises of the Foundation will host Carlo Rampazzi’s solo exhibition. Hailing from Ascona, Rampazzi has been able to garner appreciation worldwide for his highly original design conception over a 50-year artistic and professional journey.
However, this is by no means a retrospective of the Master’s work. On the contrary, it is hoped that this solo exhibition can serve as inspiration for young talents, much like those supported by the Majid Foundation. They are the ideal custodians of an artistic legacy, that of the architect from Ascona, which has nothing to do with the superficiality of trends.
The cultural commitment of the Majid Foundation has led to the establishment of collaborations with various local entities, including the one with Raiffeisen Bank, whose attention and dedication to culture as a fundamental driving force for personal and collective development are truly exemplary. This shared purpose continues this year, with the kind willingness of the bank to host, within its premises, the solo exhibition of Atefeh Yazdani, a young talented Swiss-Iranian artist whose artistic production is a magnificent expression of the rich artistic and cultural heritage of her home country.
The artist skillfully blends painting, calligraphy, and collage, drawing inspiration from Persian tradition and mystical poets. Atefeh Yazdani’s works reflect a strong and sensual femininity, giving voice to a creative journey deeply marked by the wounds of her country’s recent history.
Uniting tradition and modernity, abstraction and figurative intent, spirituality and civic commitment, femininity and universality, the works of Swiss-Iranian artist Atefeh Yazdani stand as a significant example of intercultural art and promise to engage their audience with both the emotional power of symbolism, the immediacy of pure perception, and the critical distance of intellect.
Book presentation of “Dell’Alpinismo” by Andrea Bocchiola, psychoanalyst of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society, as well as a member of the Italian Academic Alpine Club (CAAI) and the British Alpine Club.
Very active from an artistic production point of view, in 2012, he created the new collection of works “The World in Balance”, an evocative universe in which villages perched on an island in the sea are the absolute protagonists of the artist’s poetics, a sort of “Island that doesn’t exist”, where dream and reality meet to give life to an ideal world. The presence of man is only imagined and never told.
“I would like to paint what lies behind physical appearances: The rustling, caressing, and swirling of wind and waves, the dance of the elements, the overflowing emptiness of silence, and the life of sparkling light. Where words cannot touch, the life of colors can merge with the hearts of viewers. Let your gaze follow the curved waves of these colors that change constantly over time – without any allusion, but full of promises. Create a silence where the song of the image becomes audible and palpable. Create a silence that allows for deeper reflection, without seeking to analyze or understand anything. Be ready to receive”. Thoughts by Murielle Argoud.

Through his design gestures, technical inventions, dadaist ready-mades and interpretative manipulations free themselves from the mere description of reality, becoming a sentimental metaphor.

Mazzoleni Foundation will take care of organizing the event, introducing 28 artists, including photographers, painters and sculptors. “Renaissance”, to represent a thought, a noble, profound, anthropological meaning, all contained in this word … a concept that perfectly reflects the thought that was once expressed by the great Oscar Wilde: “Every single artwork is the fulfillment of a prophecy, of a rebirth “.
We are pleased to host, during the month of May, the young swiss painter, Monica Scalco. Cultivating passion is his lifestyle and his are painting and sculpting expressing a physical and mental need. In this process, music has a very important influence, because according to the artist, it amplifies and concretizes emotions.
From 1 April 2022 we are delighted to report the return of Dondè, a sparkling artist whom the Majid Foundation has had the pleasure of hosting several times. In which 43 artists belonging to the associazione pittori e scultori ticinesi apst (association of ticino painters and sculptors) will be exhibiting their works.
The group, known throughout Ticino and beyond, was founded on 29 March 1996 with the aim of strengthening ties, interests, the exchange of ideas, dialogue on different issues and everything that concerns art in general.
Painting and sculpture will merge in this unique occasion to show the different nuances that art can take.
The program includes the performance of Latin music, specially arranged by the two guitarists, with the intervention of the dancers Romina Godoy and Giuseppe Tortorelli, who will enrich the evening with their choreography.
His artistic activity includes many works that he produced in series, and repetition was the method of his success. His art, which brought the shelves of a supermarket into a museum or exhibition, was a not too veiled provocation. According to one of the greatest exponents of pop art, art had to be “consumed” like any other commercial product.
Warhol, an infinite man and artist, managed to communicate the tragic nature of existence with its echo of pain, a point of fracture and abandonment corresponding to a moment of living.
The exhibition is a personal experience that highlights the human condition as voluntary obedience to the TIME OF THE CLOCK and the ability of an artist, of talent, to be able to get out of it through painting, that knowledge of the soul that is not knowledge.
His Artworks are well-known for being full of light: the artist Faccincani wants to represent subjects that are lively and convey positive emotions.
The main subjects of his paintings are, for example, the famous Mediterranean coasts from Positano and the many flowers, to the sea views of Santorini and Provence.
We are delighted to be able to host Athos Faccincani, whose coloured landscapes are going to brighten up Maison Majid even more.
Chiara Magni is an Italian painter who creates her artworks with the “Finger Painting” technique.

It is a pleasure for the Foundation Majid to welcome Chiara Magni, who is going to brighten and fill our Foundation with color with to her pieces of art

We are delighted to welcome for the first time the painter Walter Marin whose themes relate to the female universe, nature, landscapes and the depiction of the sacred.
However, music is one of the true protagonists of his works. Combining his passion for music with his passion for painting, Marin not only depicts singers and musicians but also makes the music itself flow in his works.
In addition to his paintings devoted mainly to jazz, his repertoire also includes several paintings of Treviso, the city where he was a young student.

In 1950, to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s birth, the Italian government commissioned Dalì to illustrate a special edition of the Divine Comedy.
100 watercolor woodcuts, 33 watercolors each for Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, were born plus an introduction, an original and unique expression of the imagination of the most famous and visionary representative of Surrealism.
Dalì works by placing at the center of each table a character or a particularly significant event of the song and the representation he makes of it is dreamlike and irreverent: Hell, Purgatory and Paradise emerge suspended between dream and reality, in a single masterpiece.
The journey beyond Dante’s world is therefore interpreted in a metaphysical and psychological key, masterfully mixing the deepest sense of the Comedy with the artistic sense of Salvador Dalì.
The Majid Foundation is honored to exhibit the complete collection of the great master’s illustrations to the Swiss public, while also paying homage to the great poet Dante Alighieri.
Majid Foundation is pleased to present Dondé exhibition, an exceptional event, a sparkling party of luxury and pop.
The event will be open to the public from 10th of October to 1st of November 2020.
Dondé himself will be present at the vernissage, Saturday the 10th of October at 6pm, adding further pleasure to the evening.
“Murielle Argoud’s ravishing canvases offer a persuasive – and deeply moving – reacquaintance with the transcendent. Using an “alchemical” mixture of oil, sand, lava and gold leaf, Argoud strives to convey both the world’s liquid materiality and the hidden depths within it. “
Jim Friedrich, art critic, writer, Washington
Dear friends, dear friends of Majid, The Majid Foundation is pleased to present Murielle Argoud’s exhibition, an exceptional and extraordinary event.
