The birth of Spazio Majid
In 2019, the “House of Dreams” acquired a true physical residence. On May 24th, Maison Majid was inaugurated at Via Borgo 7 in Ascona, becoming the official headquarters of the Foundation. This inauguration coincided with the public presentation of an exhibition of works by Maria Kononov, inspired by the previous year’s project.
A place of art and encounter
Spread over three modernly renovated floors, Maison Majid aims not only to host the eponymous Foundation but, above all, to be a place of art and cultural enrichment in the heart of Ascona. Thanks to its strategically visible location, Maison Majid offers exposure to young artistic talents like Kononov as well as to already well-established artists, while promoting meetings and the exchange of ideas through a rich schedule of cultural events.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of artworks exhibited in its spaces is donated to support the philanthropic activities of the Majid Foundation, whose generosity is thus reciprocated and made possible thanks to that of the artists who find in it an excellent showcase.
